Coconut & Chocolate Energy Balls

Coconut & Chocolate Energy Balls

No bake chocolate energy balls recipe – tastes like a treat even though they’re healthy!

At only 15p per energy ball, snack time just got a whole lot more exciting!

This guilt-free coconut & chocolate energy balls recipe doesn’t taste like they should be good for you… That is, they actually taste really good! 😛

If you’re after an alternative to a vending-machine chocolate bar to see you through that afternoon slump then these chocolately nutty bites are the perfect snack. The cocoa & dates satisfy your sweet tooth while the rest of the ingredients give you that much-needed energy boost. Plus, you get healthy fats from the coconut oil, which we know is aaall the rage right now — just read what the Harvard Medical School has to say about it!

These chocolate energy balls, combined with my home-made trail mix, make a great combination of snacks to always keep around the house. With the trail mix you can meal prep a big batch and it keeps for ages. Then, with the energy balls, you can stick them in the freezer and keep them for months — taking them out to quickly defrost when you need one.

I found the original recipe, ‘Coconut and Cacao Bites’, on the Deliciously Ella website but sadly this now appears to have been taken down. (Good job you can find a version of the recipe here instead!) Her range of energy balls are now selling in mainstream supermarkets so you don’t have to take my word for it that they’re pretty darn good! Initially, I thought that all of the ingredients would end up making these super expensive. But turns out I can buy everything I need from my local Aldi, making them surprisingly cheap!
